Hey Girls! I’m sharmella a 1st year student childrens nurse!
I want to create as many opportunities for us girls to socialise within women’s rugby as possible – I know that for me having previously studied at another Uni where I felt unwelcomed as a fresher I’d never want this to happen to others. As a student nurse i wont get to play as much as i'd like but being social sec would mean i still get to be involved!
As social sec I would aim to make everyone feel welcomed and create social opportunities for everyone to enjoy. I’d love to plan some days out to watch international womens rugby & premiership rugby an also celebrate Christmas & end of year with dinners as well as regular socials after home matches and other themed nights throughout the year.
I’d also love to try and bring us together with the mens team so we can support each other through the season and have some joint socials to create a great rugby atmosphere!
I love planning and using social media and think we can really use social media to get the word out about the womens rugby team at LSBU. In my spare time I run a food blog and would love to use some of my contacts to try and get some sponsorships for the team – I have previously worked with Jack links & kings snacks on rugby related content so would be great to get others involved.
