LSBSU Election Results

LSBSU RESULTS: Triple Record Breaking Elections & Your New Officer Team

2017ElectionsLSBUElectsResults

Dear All,

I wanted to write to you all and 'thank you' for all your energy and support over the last week in helping deliver for the second year in a row a record-breaking election, and this year managing to break not 1 but three!

These were:

- Highest number of candidates nominating 228 (+172) (for 20 positions)

- Highest number of voters 4,325 (+80)

- Highest voter turnout percentage 28.5 (+0.4%)

For context, this puts our elections in the amongst top Unions across the UK, and something we can all be proud of, and we did all this against the backdrop of not only a harsher engagement environment (Higher numbers of Mature/Part-time/work-place sponsored students), but a university ICT system that tried its hardest to best us!

Special thanks to the MarComms Team, Trey & Scott in particular, as well as my new starters: Sebastian and Charlie, for not only being my right and left hands throughout last week but for skillfully and painlessly getting us through Results Night.
