Talking to LSBU Cheerleading and Dance, LSBU Sports Club of the Year 2020!

The LSBU Cheerleading and Dance Team aim to build on strength and flexibility whilst having fun! Aside from the hard work at training and the competitions they also like to enjoy social time as a team.

 

Who runs the squad?
Emily-Molly Green is President of LSBU Cheerleading and Dance. Suzanne Stewart is her right hand, she’s vice president. Aoife Heather is the treasurer, the money manager. Louiza Tamilla is the social guru, the social secretary.

 

What can students expect from LSBU Cheerleading and Dance?

If you join cheerleading and dance you can expect weekly socials where we join on zoom, have a drink, play games, and just chat. We also do regular virtual training sessions in flexibility, conditioning, and dance. Furthermore, we encourage everyone to learn new skills in cheerleading and our coaches give tutorials and step by steps so people can learn some cheer skills from home ready for in person training.


What is the newest and most exciting thing about LSBU Cheerleading and Dance?

This year, we are introducing a Hip-Hop Dance Team to our society.

 

Why should students get involved?

People should get involved in cheerleading and dance as it is a great way to meet friends, learn new skills, and keep fit which is so important. We also engage on social media, posting our members achievements which is a great way to encourage you to get involved. We think being in the cheer and dance team is great fun, our group chats are lively all hours of the day, and we can't wait until we all meet up in person.

 

Can students join with no experience?

LSBU Cheerleading and Dance welcomes ALL abilities and with our committee and coaches we hope to grow everyone’s confidence and improve skill level!
