On 19th March, as part of our Academic Enhancement Program, we visited our Croydon campus to support and engage with our nursing students. During the visit, we provided free lunches to over seventy students, offering a selection of sandwiches, snacks, and refreshments as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work and dedication. Nursing students often have demanding schedules, so this initiative aimed to give them a well-deserved break while also recognising their commitment to their studies and future careers.
The response from students was extremely positive, with many expressing gratitude and enjoyment of the food provided. Beyond the refreshments, the visit created a valuable opportunity to connect directly with students based at the Croydon campus, who can sometimes feel less connected to central activities. It also allowed us to raise awareness of the various ways the Students’ Union can support them, from academic resources to wellbeing services. Overall, the initiative was a meaningful and successful way to engage students and strengthen our presence across campuses.
