Calling all final year Nursing and Midwifery students!
You may be wondering what to do with your clinical uniform when you complete your final placements. Due to the LSBU logo, you will not be able to use it in your future employment.
To prevent these garments going to waste, the Student’s Union and the School of Nursing and Midwifery are launching a Uniform Exchange Event for returning students. By returning your unwanted uniforms, you will help returning students get an extra set, supporting them financially and building a more sustainable campus community. It also means you do not need to worry about disposing of the uniform yourself.
Donation Guidelines:
To align with the NHS uniform and workwear guidelines, all donations must meet strict infection control and quality standards. The Union will not accept items of uniform that do not meet these standards:
- Washed at 60°C: Uniforms must be washed at 60 °C for at least 10 minutes to eliminate pathogens.
- Undamaged: Items must be completely free of tears, rips or visible signs of wear.
- Unblemished: Items must have no visible stains, tarnishes or discolouration.
How to donate: Please ensure your washed garments are transported in clean bags to drop off areas. The drop off day will be Monday 6th July for all three campuses.
Drop off areas:
- Southwark Hub Entrance, 10am 2pm.
- Croydon CEH 206, 10am 4pm.
- Havering Lecture Hall 2 10am 4pm.
